Decorating Tips For Landlords
Showing your property off to its best can help to attract good quality tenants.
By decorating your property in the right way you have the potential to achieve a higher rent and attract a quality tenant more quickly.
Use Neutral Colours
Using neutral colours such as white and soft greys allows tenants to view the property as a blank canvass making it easier for them to imagine themselves living there whilst also making the property feel more bright and spacious! By using strong colours you risk putting a prospective tenant off.
It’s also a good idea to leave your tenant with an extra tin of paint so they can touch up any marks or scuffs themselves.
Keep Records & Receipts
It is a good idea to keep records of when you redecorated your property and to keep receipts for purchases of appliances etc. Should there be any dispute with a tenant at the end of their tenancy these can act as your proof of the redecorating work carried out and appliances provided.
